"I was intrigued by the striking title of this book. This collection of stories takes the reader through a variety of experiences of people that go against the expectations of society. It reminds the reader not to take anything for granted and teaches them how different each person's experience can be. "

"Surprisingly, I related to this book. I think we all can relate to feeling like an outcast at times. I dealt with my own share of hardships and overcoming them has made me a better person. Not only that, but it's just a great story. I was hooked from the first page. The protagonist really takes you on a journey. You'll laugh, weep, get angry, and cry tears of joy. It's an emotional mind trip. Loved it."

"I think this book is one of the best transgender books out there and with quite a few reviews and all but 6% of them somehow positive, I would think others agree. It's a fictional story but it's based on some of the experiences of the author growing up transgender."

"One of the best books about the real life struggles that transgender people face. Jan Morris's tale of the storm that is brewing inside her is a very realistic and approachable feeling that many transgender people go through. Going on this journey with Jan opens up the readers eyes and brings those feeling into ours. This journey is one not to be missed"

"I liked the story line in this book. I think a lot of people can relate to this. A lot of youth and teens struggle with the issue or coming out as gay and disappointing their parents so I feel like a lot of them would read this book and it would help them feel like they aren't odd and shouldn't have to live a certain life because that is what is generally accepted. I think it's a great book though, whether you are gay or not."

"James/Jenny is one of the most compelling characters I have seen in fiction since the 1953 Ed Wood film, GLEN OR GLENDA. Although, one burning question did remain unanswered: do they use the mens or ladies room at Target.... Have to wait for the sequel, I guess."
