"This is a really unique and interesting book that combines information about trees and human nature. It draws connections between plants and humans, which is a very interesting perspective to take. I read this in close to one sitting, just because I was fascinated by the author's unique perspective and the thoughts that he had to share. It definitely made me think, which is more than I can say for most books I read lately. "

"This is a children's book that should be read to or by all children. This is probably Silverstein's most known book that isn't a collection of poetry for good reason. In it's short length it touches on a lot of emotions and values. This is good for children at any age, and all of my kids love it."

"I loved this book. Very long but very worth it. I could not put it down. It is about King Arthur in a different but very enjoyable version by M.Z. Bradley. the characters are so interesting and well written and the hidden messages about religious bias is an important lesson. A little disappointed in how the men are supposedly more intelligent than the women, but overall still a great book. "

"I thought this book was going to be in real time like a tree diary, that way I could read it for hundreds of years. I guess the tree got cut down to make the book about the tree. SAD."

"What made this an above average book about trees was the way the son's had to pick up the work of their father, who had been studying the primeval forest. There is a lot of info about the mythical forest itself, but its not exactly a dendrology heavy read. If you are looking for something more xylological or about the biology of trees you should probably look elsewhere. "
