For the first half of the book, it is like watching a teenager play a video game and build up their arsenal of weapons. Once we find out the plan, there is a lot of vampire killing until she finds one who conquers her and the kissing begins. Blech..."

I was so happy. One of my main worries was that it would come to me all beat up, but thankfully it got here in perfect condition. Also, it's thicker than I had thought. When I hear "Comic" I think, really thin paper, easily tearable. But this has the thickness of a paperback book (maybe even a slightly thicker). And the pages are a little thicker than a magazine, so they won't tear or bend as easy as a regular comic."

Well, we get all that and a lot more in Xavier, by Catherine Leivens. I was transfixed on Xavier's journey from the start and only got moreso as he moved on to finding his mates. Once he finds Andy, it is fascinating to see what unfolds and whether their relationship will ever work. The book takes us through plots that remind us of modern day issues too--family disapproval, what friends think of our relations, etc. And we find ourselves taking on the persona of Xavier as he navigates through this tangled web of issues. It's a great read on vampires and gayness and relations and flows well from start to finish."

"Lord of the Vampires is a weird book. I tried to get into the storyline, but it just kept veering off into different places and I couldn't keep up. It's a paranormal romance between two people who live during different times and the book just keeps jumping around. I don't recommend this book to those that don't have time to really try to figure out what is happening. I lost interest and sold it at a garage sale."

I tried reading The Blood confession by Alisa Libby recently and must say I was greatly disappointed. It was boring, I could not connect to the characters and overall just did not enjoy the writing style. When I'm looking for my vampire reading fix I will stick with my twilight saga!"

"Most of the time you'll hear the book is better than the movie. Normally I would agree on that. In this case, however, I feel the show was better than the book, especially in this particular book/episode. If I had never seen the show I would love this book and I would be satisfied with it.. but I have seen the show. I like the show better. The book itself (and the show) are both action packed on this particular section but for me, personally, the show is better."

I'm currently on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and I have to this has been a joy to read. It's everything I'm familiar with but there's just so much more details. I wanted something with interesting creatures - vampires, witches, angels, etc. The shopkeeper suggested this book and I was intrigued by the cover and the plotline. Unfortunately, the book was disappointing overall. The characters were flat and the creatures were very nontraditional. Who's ever heard of a vampire sparkling in the sun? I hadn't until I read Twilight."
