"This was an interesting and moving story about Vietnam as seen through the eyes of man looking back at his childhood. It is a very different story as it is about the Amerasians of Vietnam and what happened to them after the fall of Saigon. Once they were wealthy and then they had to struggle for live with the regime change. "

"This is a really lovely book (to use the adjective that the author likes!). But keep in mind, this isn't a history book filled with anecdotes about the war. It's a graphic memoir (it tells the story from the perspective of a young child. Vietnam was just a bit before my childhood memories - and for my daughter - it's ancient history. So, this is a great introduction for teens who need to learn more about our history. I highly recommend this book!"
