"I grew up in a southern Christian home and never experienced too much in terms of outside religions. When I went to college, I wanted to truly explore the world and its cultures so I began reading this book about Zen Buddhism. While I don't necessarily agree or plan to follow this teaching, I feel much more cultured and aware of how and why other people think. "

"This is not very useful. There is more to being a samurai than carrying a sword. I don't believe this person has given any insight into the book."

"It's definitely not a definitive volume of information, nor is it historical - more philosophical. With that in mind, this book is interest and does its job. What I mean by not historical is that it does not treat itself like a historical analysis but rather a summary for the purpose of explaining the philosophy. I think it's a bit too short for my taste and it's missing some information but overall it's a good book."
