"Homer's Iliad follows the story of great Greek warrior Achilles and his conflict with Agamemnon during the Trojan War. Also called "The Song of Ilion", to call this ancient poem a classic would be an understatement. This piece of literature is one of the oldest works ever discovered, dating back to the 8th century BC, and has provided much insight to historians and readers alike in understanding what history was like during that era. This is a must-have book on anyone's shelf."

"I'm kind of a fan of Hamza Yusuf Hanson, I admire him greatly, and I was intrigued to find a list of books that he recommended as being among the best of their type. I like scifi, and I saw 'Brave New World' by Huxley, on his list, and for some reason I've never gotten around to reading that one. I got a copy at my local library, in the 'literature' section, and I have to admit it's a ground-breaking classic, incredibly thought-provoking (albeit grim), and doubtless influential on many other books I have loved. I'm glad I listened to Hamza Yusuf's advice."
