"This is part of a whole series of books based upon Tristan and Isolde. I find it to be mediocre and this book in particular is fairly lame."

"This was decent, but would have been so much better with more editing. The writing had too much exposition and needed a read-through. "

"This is from a series dealing with Tristan and Isolde (or, here, Trystan). It won't go along with what you may already know of the legends, but that's a plus to me. The author puts her own spin on things while maintaining a sense of authenticity. It's a very enjoyable series, and this book, the second, is perhaps my favorite."

"I would not read this book again. However, Diana L. Paxson wrote one of the best retellings of the tale of Tristan and Isolde. I can say this was a really good book. However, I try to stay away from tragedies."

"Rosalind Miles wrote an great book here. It is a great beginning to the Tristan and Isolde Novels. Isolde is the only daughter and heiress of Ireland’s great ruling queen. She is beautiful and strong, a healer and a peacemaker, and this story tells the tale of her struggle to keep her country from falling apart to war. It is very suspenseful and you constantly find yourself rooting for Isolde."
