"I've liked Ann Patchett in the past, but this book does nothing for me. Perhaps I've had enough of her style and storytelling. But nothing about this book captured my imagination, from the setting to the story to the characters. It all just seemed sort of distant and unbelievable to me, even accepting its fantastical elements. I also grew tired of the moral conundrums which seem only to serve to make the reader uncomfortable. Go elsewhere for better Ann Patchett."

"This is not the book for me. I am not sure why this was given to me. Someone knew I liked books and decided I would like this. I don't I tried to read it, but I could not get very far. I can see it might appeal to somebody else."

"This is a fairly popular book written by Ann Patchett. It's historical fiction, so if you want to read a story with actual background in reality, this is a good one to go to. It is rated fairly high, so if you at all enjoy historical fiction you'll probably enjoy this one."

"This is an excellent work by Ann Patchett. Her works are always entertaining and thought-provoking, but this is by far her best. She delves into the intricate weaving of family relationships and allows the reader to see how it applies to his or her life. Makes you think about the choices you have made and especially, about the ones you could have made but didn't."

"This Is the Story of a Happy Marriage was a book that was handed down to me by my mother. I thought it was a handbook for marriage, but it was a memoir. It was a good read, but I am not sure I would pass this one down."

"This is an ok solution if there are no other solutions available for some reason. The book is reviewed decently enough, however the topic is looking for the best book by this author. This doesn't exactly fit the bill."
