"While this is a great book, Jane Austen was in the latter half of her 30s so I wouldn't call it a best book by an author under 30. Regardless, I'll have to rate it at the mid scale because the book is damned awesome and if you don't mind half a decade past 30, it's still worth reading."

"The famous short novel provided a unique approach to a time in which America was still in its infant stage. It was a unique era in which the days of expansion was ending and the modern era was still in its early stages. While it was an interesting concept of writing about the experiences of the Klondike Gold Rush, I would have preferred to read about a novel through the eyes of a person though rather than a dog, it would have been a bit more believable if it was through a persons account instead. "I love other works by this author so decided to check this one out. The subject matter is unique, but I have to admit it is quite long and my patience was wearing thin. There were quite a number of character with motivations that didn't quite gel."

"Looking for Alaska is an interesting young adult fiction novel where the main character goes through the process of trying to understand mortality, life, death, and moving on. The characters are surprisingly complex, and it's very relateable to teens. Overall I'd recommend if you want to read...it's actually quite good."

"The Bell Jar is probably one of Sylvia Plath's most well known books, despite it's harrowing topic. Knowing that Sylvia Plath had a troublesome and difficult life, I wonder how much of The Bell Jar is actually autobiographical. Ms. Plath's ability to development the depression and madness of Esther Greenwood is so strong to the point of being disturbing. However, I couldn't tear myself away from reading this book."

"One of Stephen Kings best even though he was only 27 when he wrote it. It still remains at the top of his numerous books all these years later."

"I read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close when it first came out. Everyone was talking about Foer as a generational writing talent. I thought the book was a little cutesy. Everything is just a little too perfect and unbelievable."

"I wasn't really a big fan of this book. The plot sounds like it could be fairly interesting but it is full of plot holes and the overall story just sort of falls flat. I also thought that the characters were pretty hard to relate to. They didn't feel real, and without a solid story or good characters, the whole book just sort of falls apart. "

"F. Scott Fitzgerald was 29 yrs old when the Great Gatsby was published, making this an excellent choice for books by authors under 30. I highly recommend this great work of literature to anyone interested in reading a true classic. This book has it all, a tragic love story, the American Dream, politics and failure. Since so many people have read this book you can always find someone to discuss it with!"
