"I am Henry James fanatic. My favorite book by him is The Portrait of Lady. I read this book from cover to cover when I first got it. The second reading was just as entertaining as the first and I am looking forward to the next. If you have never read anything by James make this book your first."

"Since I have not ready any of this authors previous works, I cannot say this is his best. What I know is that its an interesting book. Its one that I read and enjoyed. If the author writes stories that are similar to this one or with the same style, then he must be very successful. I'm going to have to find more of his works and read them so I can know if this is truly his best work or not. "

"Henry James is a master writer but I feel that What Maisie Knew is one of his weaker efforts. The pacing was painfully slow and many of the sentences were needlessly long and meandering. I can usually appreciate language that is written for highly educated readers, but this book often came off more pretentious than merely challenging."

"In the Cage is a lesser known book by Henry James that did not do so well with his fans. It's an interesting book but it tends to drag on as the story progressed, this I can't really recommend it."

"Eh. I dunno what this is but it isn't a best anything by Henry James. This is a younger James in a very short collection of stories. I was looking for one of his more classic and well known books. This one wasn't for me. Wasn't looking for a bio. "

"Very Short at around 20 pages. Other stories are included in the book but that only pushes it just past 40 pages. I don't think its worth the cost. "
