"I am not one for horror fiction books, nor movies. But this looks very over the top and disturbing. I would never feel the need to read this and there is a reason that the price is so inexpensive. I see it does offer both a kindle version and a book copy. I really think books like this should not be allowed, as they do involve the death of children. I will never purchase anything like this."

"It's another predictable Saul book. Like all of them are. Saul offers nothing new, just the same stuff that's ok while you read it but is immediately forgettable."

"John Saul wrote this horror novel about an old asylum that is being demolished and the consequences of that process. It's a very atmospheric and dark book that is interesting enough. I think long time readers of Saul's works will find the story and writing to be gripping, but others may think it doesn't distinguish itself from much of his other work. "

"I have begun to dive into the world of horror novels and have just taken the task of reading a few works of John Saul. I just got finished reading his other book House of Reckoning, which I enjoyed. This was my second Saul book to read. Not quite as good as HoR, but definitely good for a scare."

"This isn't my favorite Saul book but it's up there in the top 3. There is never a dull moment in this story, and the teeming darkness of the city made a cool setting for the characters. "
