"I have enjoyed Philip Roth books for years and his book, American Pastoral, did not disappoint me at all. It takes a man living a peaceful, content life and turns his world upside down when his daughter becomes involved in extreme political turmoil situations. I was intrigued to read how Swede and his daughter would come through this phase and how their relationship would change as a result."

"A quite shocker and visceral book that still manages to touch on very human and intimate experiences. No doubt it's challenging to read and even stomach sometimes, but the shocking material in the book only serves to heighten the emotional impact of the story, and it stays with you a long time after reading it. Definitely one of his best books."

"I was recommended "The Plot Against America" by Philip Roth by a friend since I'm a huge fan of historical fiction and I've been thoroughly impressed by this historical take by Roth. It's an incredibly interesting story that dives into the situation surrounding World War II and it does a great job convincing you of its "counterfactual" scenario. If I wasn't a historical buff myself, I could have probably been fooled into thinking this book is non-fiction given how realistic it is in depicting this major event in history. Fans of historical fiction absolutely need to check this one out!"
