"More than what its title implies, this Robert Harris novel is more like a historical action novel, full of intrigue and well researched facts. A must for anyone with an appreciation for historical detail."

"This is the first Robert Harris book I've read but Selling Hitler definitely makes me wonder if I should try some more. Not so much because Harris is a tremendous storyteller, but because he obviously does extremely thorough research into his subject matter. That's good, since you feel like you're getting the real scoop on a fascinating historical tale, but at times it also buries you in minutiae you could probably do without. Worth reading but the subject matter and faithfulness to it are the real stars here."

"Look, I like history as much as the next bloke, but calling this book a history text is stretching that definition past the point of breaking. I like Welsh history, and sort of linked into some articles about this guy, Neil Kinnock. And when I did some further searched, turned this book up. So I took a look. The book reads like a half complete party pamphlet, and the language is very archaic even though it has a 1984 copyright date. Even the cover is incomplete. Looks like I'll have to stick with Wikipedia to find out more about Welsh politics."

"Fatherland is an interesting read about an alternative world where Hitler won World War II. And, of course, the book follows a detective who finds conspiracy going all the way to the top. Not unusual, but taking place in an alternate reality does certainly add a bit of flair to the story. Kudos to the author for that. I enjoyed reading it, and I definitely think it's worth picking up. Give it a try!"

"I loved the book Fatherland by Robert Harris, so I decided to revisit his work recently and picked up a copy of The Fear Index. It sounded like a taut thriller, and I love those types of stories. Unfortunately, this isn't a great effort. The characters are two dimensional and the dialogue feels stilted. A pretty disappointing effort overall."

"Imperium is the first book in a trilogy. His other writings not be as stellar but this is a true gem. He's managed to take a genre, historical fiction, which some may find rather boring and dry, and make it exciting. It's a nice length at about 300 pages so it's a pleasant read. You won't feel over-whelmed or like you can't wait for it to be over. I'll bet you'll be like me and anxious to read the next two books to find out more."
