"Tom Perrotta is such a great author! His Best American Short Stories anthology showcases the best of his work. The writing is great, and characters feel real, quirky, and like you can related to them. This is one of my favorite anthologies of all time. "

"Nine Inches: Stories is a book of closely themed short stories written by Tom Perrotta. The stories run together so well it reads like a novel. The characters are well sketched out and the foibles and failures of suburban life are on full display. I found the stories to be well crafted, compelling and enjoyable. The reader should be aware that not all of the stories reach a satisfying conclusion, just like in real life."

"Tom Perrotta has a knack for finding the humanity and humor in his characters and situations. Bad Haircut shows this to great advantage. The stories follow the protagonist, Buddy, from Cub Scouts to college, as he makes new friends and has new experiences. He's a engaging, charming character, and it's enjoyable to get a glimpse into his world."

"I was interested in reading the book because I'm a fan of Lost, but what I got was the series on HBO instead. I don't have HBO and I'm not interested in signing up for it just for this. I don't even have cable! This might be ok for someone who has money to throw at a cable subscription, but that's not me. I prefer books."

"Tracy Flick wants to be President of Winwood High. She’s one of those ambitious girls who finds time to do it all: edit the yearbook, star in the musical, sleep with her English teacher. But another teacher, staunch idealist Jim McAllister (aka “Mr. M.”), thinks the students deserve better. So he persuades Paul Warren—a well-liked, good-hearted jock—to throw in his hat. But that puts Paul’s sister, Tammy, in a snit. So she runs, too, on an apathy platform—before starting a real campaign...to get herself kicked out of school."
