"I love Douglas Adams and was overjoyed when they released new material following his death. I was immediately drawn in by the cover of The Salmon of Doubt since the fish on it brought me back to So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish. His writing is so witty and creative. This book was a great addition to his portfolio."

"I know youth and adults who have come forth as transgender and each has been accepted by their families. This book shows the perspective of the youth going through the process of being transgender and the challenges from friends, family and classmates that are faced. This book expresses the confusion why being transgender should cause others to treat the transgender individual differently than before becoming transgender. I acknowledge that I have questions of transgender individuals, not in terms of judgment but in a quest to understand. This book helps me understand what the transgender thinks, feels and confronts."

"I began reading this book with an optimistic outlook. I thought it would be good because it's about a girl who is put into new surroundings and tells of her life, and how she deals with these new things. I read half the book, and it was still kind of slow so I thought, I'm only half way through it so it will probably get better... Well let me tell you, It DIDN'T! I could barely finish it it was so bad! I do not recommend this book for anyone, unless you just like boring stories. I would definitely give this book a negative rating, but one was the lowest number."

"What a great book! I have always been interested in Great White Sharks and this book takes you from the Caribbean to the whaling grounds off South Africa, across the Indian Ocean to the South Australian coast. It's a great read and gives you a lot of behind the scenes details about the filming of the feature-length documentary "Blue Water, White Death.""

"This is an award winning book, and does indeed have a fish on the cover. Though the story doesn't have much to do with fish, but it's ok, because I am not necessarily looking for that."
