"It's decent, but it doesn't really grab me like other books do, and while really well written, I just couldn't get into it. I often can't "get into" a book if the characters aren't relatable in SOME way, and these characters just don't do it for me."

"Courtney Brandt perfectly captures the life of a high school student in Major Pain. The band characters felt very real and reminded me of my old classmates. I loved the way Brandt portrayed young love with her unique style of humor. Any band geek should be able to relate to this book. "

"This book seems kind of niche, but it really held my interest quite well. It is more than just a story about a band - it covers the band itself, as a whole, as well as individuals within it, and what this kind of band might symbolize to the town. It works on a micro and a macro level, so to speak. It strikes a good balance between being neutral and being emotionally invested in the bands and the kids. It also does well at balancing information about technical aspects of the band's music and about the interpersonal struggles of its members. I would say that it is actually quite ambitious, but that it does live up to a lot of its promise."

"I really didn’t like this book at all. It was a very uncomfortable story. I didn’t think this book would’ve been as bad as the first one. After reading this book made me not want to invest anymore time into the rest of the series."
