"This is a must read for the younger generations. Kids are raving about how the character struggles are making her strong and in turn teaching them empathy and compassion. It is a teaching book about many things like disease, disability and debilitating life circumstances can be. A realistic approach to teaching children about real life, and the characters are so memorable."

"Oh how the nostalgia overwhelms the mushy parts of my brain... Judy Blume. All of her children novels were so iconic I remember reading Judy Blume a few times and the Junie B. Jones series. Those had me howling with laughter. They were so necessary to my childhood because they taught me things that no one would teach a young kid at my age in my school: how to be yourself and how being different is necessary. For example this novel right here, Deenie, I haven't read it before but I can already tell it has a beautiful story of how to live with what makes you different, especially with scoliosis that can make opportunities harder to grab such as modeling which is what the little girl wanted to do. Anyways, I firmly believe any book of Judy Blume is great, heart-warming read."

"This is such a fantastic book series, though I have to admit Mockingjay was kind of a disappointing end to the trilogy. In my opinion the movie form of this works much better, but I'd still recommend it to anyone wanting to get into dystopian YA."

"Only the Good Spy Young is an amazing book for young girls. The story is about a spy girl and her trials and tribulations related to her mission and herself. I think this book is empowering for younger girls as it encourages the idea that girls can do anything they put their mind to, which is something not a lot of books do."

"While this may not be the "best book for 13-year-old girls", it is a GOOD book for 13-year old girls who like sports. This is wholesome reading for an age level that is beginning to learn about teamwork and sportsmanship, while still being an individual with her own motivations. A story like this will help young girls feel better about breaking away from old, stale archetypes of how a girl should behave."
