"This is one of those life-changing books you run into occasionally. The author delves into spirituality, self-improvement, callings, and the law of attraction while weaving a tale which - on the surface - seems to not be about any of those things. I like reading those kinds of tales, so I enjoyed this immensely. My girlfriend isn't into that as much, though she did read it along with me. I wouldn't call this a "couples" book, but it is good nonetheless."

"As a musician, I am especially fond of this book. I think The Name of the Wind has some of the best depictions of playing music that have eve been written. The only reason I've been disappointed with Rothfuss is because it's been seven years since book 2 came out with no sign of book 3 any time soon."

"This book is definitely not for couples but that doesn't take away from the great storytelling. The plot of the book is really quite fascinating. I love fantasy type stories and the asteroid stuff is really interesting. It's a fight for survival as there are many bad elements that get in the way of survival and make it taxing on the life of the characters. If you like apocalypse type stories, then this is the book for you. It can make you fearful but hopeful as well. Great storytelling. "

"This was an emotionally gripping story of forgiveness and heartache, loss and redemption. The issue of whether trust and love can be regained once taken away is addressed as is what a parent is willing to do, or not do, for a child. "

"This book really isnt all that great in my opnion. The story is very dryly written and it is a rather predictable story that is rather boring. I bought this book and had to force my way thtough it and I only did that because i spent money on it. I would pass on this book if I was you, its not worth your time!"

"This book was great way to delve into the mindset of people in the 60's. It deals with the American dream what the price to get it entails. It shows us that behind the white picket fences, everyhting is not all good. Life is messy hard and sometimes mean. This book is bleak look into the suburban life that is a iconic way of living and very romanticized. "
