"This is definitely a gay romance novel (of sorts), but it's got an interesting twist. It is about a werewolf who is struggling with his feelings for a man. It is a very odd concept, but if you're looking for a gay love story and enjoy supernatural aspects in your fiction, you could find yourself enjoying this book."

"This book is poorly written, predictable, and not what I would call a book for gays. It doesn't celebrate two gay people; it shows two men who cling to each other in an unlikely situation. I don't think any gay person would find it that relatable. I was hoping for a book that truly described how it felt to grow up gay, but this wasn't it. "

Mick looks out for the absent-minded genius, and he helps Fielding clean up his appearance and discover all the silly pleasures his strict upbringing as a child prodigy denied him. The thing about Fielding is, once he locks onto an idea, it’s almost impossible to get him to change his mind. However, the reviews are quite positive so many readers enjoyed the book. I think that is enough to make it a solid contender for this "best books" list."

I gave this book a chance, but honestly I found it a bit too dry and depressing. It's gripping but for me it wasn't interesting enough. The elements of the war were a bit too much and I found the overall story too heavy to really relax and really dwell into. I like the dynamic of the romance between soldier and commanding officer, but the elements involved make the whole story hard to absorb."

"I have to admit when I first started this book, I wasn't sure I was going to like it. Dick was such a...dick...for the want of a better word and I wasn't sure I wanted to read any more than the first couple of chapters, despite Dan's awesome way of telling a story. But I'm glad I kept going- and going. I read it all in one sitting! What I loved about this book is that while it is a gay relationship story, the feelings and emotions that JJ goes through could apply to anyone, in any type of long term relationship. The need to keep quiet about some things. That moment when you realize the person you thought was wonderful actually has feet of clay. The things you can endure in a relationship because you really don't know what to do next. I'm not going to give examples because you should read the book for yourself, but JJ takes quite a journey and it is a riveting read. The central theme of the book is about what it means to be gay - in the closet or out of it. While it might be possible that Dan was hoping we might have some sympathy for Dick given his overbearing mother, the bottom line was Dick and his mother were just too much alike for me to have any compassion for either of them. My only other concern, when I started this book was that I couldn't see how JJ could have his HEA. Anyone who reads my books knows that a good HEA is crucial to me, especially in a book full of angst. All I will say about it, is that it happens and I was more than satisfied as a reader by the ending Dan had created for JJ. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a realistic read about gay relationships that aren't all flowers and chocolates."

"I don't think this book is quite what you're looking for if you're just looking for information or stories about the heterosexual lifestyle. It is brutal in it's storytelling and does not hold back on the carnage within - this may haunt your dreams. Tread carefully."

"This is a sequel and I haven't been able to read the first book. The book sounds interesting and I think it would be a good read for anyone whose not opposed to reading about gay romance. The writing in this book is powerful and although some may disagree, it was definitely a great sequel. I can't wait to read the first one!"

"I had heard so much about this book from others that I couldn't wait to read it for myself. And even though the storyline was captivating, I found the timeline in the book seemed to move too fast skipping from days to months in the matter of a few chapters. I also felt like the author rushed the end of the book and was unsatisfied with the ending. "

"If I were to pretend to be a homosexual person, this is not the kind of book I would pick up and read. I would not choose any book to read specifically catering towards homosexuality but that is just my personal preference both generally and trying to be one with the LGBT Community. The book looks already to be a bad pick up just looking at the cover."
