"I have loved Ella Enchanted ever since I was a young girl in elementary school. I still like it now, there is a reason it is an award winning classic. It is a fun and fantasy themed with a strong young female protagonist. I highly recommend this book."

"This was okay. I recommend for kids around seven or eight. My daughter is eleven and this was a little too kiddish for her. She'd not particularly mature or anything and we both found the book a little patronizing. Better stuff for older kids out there, I guess."

"This book's story, while wonderfully magical, comes with some dark themes alongside the fantastical elements. It definitely has some lessons and coming of age tales that would be good for girls like mine to read and learn about. I think for my girl that's around 11 years old, this might be a little heavy for her to read without some discussions afterward. I enjoyed reading about the challenges and joys of friendships we all can make."

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is amazing. I like to read books at the same time as my preteen daughter so we can discuss them together. Sometimes I will read a chapter, then she will, but this time I ordered two books and we read them at the same time, and discussed it after each chapter. This was fun and the characters are very engaging, loved it"

"Some book series are classics, like the Harry Potter series. I read this in my early adulthood, and now my kids get to enjoy it. The Prisoner of Azkaban is one of my favorite books in the series - well written with the emotional heart tugs this series is known for. Highly recommended for anyone who believes a little magic is needed! "

"When I went to live in foster care at 10 I wanted to read this book. I purchased it with my allowance and then was told I had to take it back. Because I had crossed out the price on the book, the used bookseller wouldn't let me return the book for full price. I stood in the back of his store tears streaming down my face because this was the book that I thought I needed to read to understand what it meant to start middle school and all the changes my new found friends were going through. Up to that point I was raised by all men in a pretty neglectful environment. Now don't ask me why it took me over 30 years to finally get the courage (yes courage) to read this book. It was not the awful "sex' book my foster mother told me it would be, and I think if I read it back then, a lot of questions I was never given the answers to would have been more readily available for me. It was a quick read and should be something that girls of that age are afforded the opportunity to read. There is nothing in this book that might change how they behave, but it could give young girls at that age the confidence to have open and honest discussions with their mothers about this time in their lives.
