"If you are starting out from the very beginning this is a great book, as it starts right where it needs to, the beginning! I picked this up to learn how to program from scratch. The topics move quickly so that you do start working on more advanced topics by the end of the book. I would recommend this to somebody that was completely new to programming or somebody who feels like they are a beginner!"

"This is a good next-step book for learning C programming. It's still pretty basic, but it does start at a slightly more advanced point than some other beginner books. I wouldn't recommend this book as the starting point for complete beginners, but as maybe the second book you read while trying to learn C. Still, if you've got the basic ground knowledge of the process, it's definitely helpful! "

"This book is great for beginners who want to learn C but aren't quite sure where to start. However, I'd say this book should serve only as an introduction and it won't make you an expert programmer by any means. If your expectations are realistic, though, this book is worth the read for those looking to learn C. "

"This provides a comprehensive way of learning how to program in C(and really most of it can be extended to other languages), it isn't for brand new programmers, but it is meant as a beginning course on aspects of computation, and programming. I picked it up after many years of C disuse, I always used C as a sort of computation language instead of a full language, and found that using this book for a few weeks got me past the years of experience I had long ago."

"Some reference books are so thorough and so complete, yet so accessible and readable, that they're the only book on the subject anyone ever needs. Learn C On The Mac was not one of them. It was confusing, filled with typos, gave incorrect Xcode download instructions, and required so many additional reference books for me to understand it that it was like Dependency Hell in real life. Avoid."
