"This is a great series to start reading with your kids, and it would probably work well to start with the first book and then work through each one over a period of years. I know my kids' eyes lit up when they learned there were more Harry Potter books to come. I don't think the later books are appropriate for younger kids, but as they age, the books will be more at their level."

"I don't think this book, set in post World War II, would capture the attention of today's typical 9 year old. There are too many other more "interesting" things to get kids' attention than an old book. The material in the book isn't appropriate for that age group either, so there's another strike against it. There really isn't enough left to redeem it for this category, unfortunately."

Do you know how rare it is to get a 7-year-old to be EXCITED to sit down and read a book for three hours? 100% satisfaction from me, that’s for sure. Also has really great illustrations and a cool story. If your little kid loves Avatar and you want to buy him something, this is a top tier choice. (That said, be warned, any kid over 12 will be offended if you get them a 30-page picture book and call it a “book”.) "

"Babymouse is a fun little reading book that I think most kids enjoy. It's very cutsie, and it almost reminds of the Redwall series (but that's for more seasoned readers). Like most kid books, it's a series of illustrations that depict BabyMouse in all sorts of scenarios like the beach, being a rock star, etc. Overall it's not bad at all, but when I was nine I preferred reading something like Captain Underpants. Now that was super funny."
