"My middle school aged nephew really liked this book. I suppose this is probably all that matters if you're buying it for a similar aged young child. Out of curiosity I read this book myself. It wasn't bad per se, but it's certainly not meant for adults. Character developments were a bit lacking in the somewhat long book, but it was still enjoyable. Just an overall whimsical book that doesn't take itself seriously. Honestly, even if the book is not perfect by adult standards, I'd still very much prefer seeing children reading it instead of playing on their phones all day."

"This might be a young adult's book, but as an adult I really enjoyed it. In today's world, with all of us being shuffled off into the sidelines and dark forgotten alleyways, it feels less like fantasy and more like a prediction. I don't want to end up needing to fight just to eat, but maybe it'll happen. The book is a fun if a little sobering to read, and I really like how Katniss stays focused on her problems and how to fix them instead of flapping about all fluttering and useless. Better than the movie."

"A bit of warning, while this book is based on actual events, it's actually is a work of fiction. The main character Patrick Seamus Flaherty is not real and the events in the book happened to an unnamed US marine. That being said it's still a pretty well written book. Starts off a little slow but it picks up and the story sucks you in. If you want to learn more about a soldier's life during the Vietnam war or just want an excellent read, I would highly recommend this book.."
