"I'm not sure where to start with The Journal of Biddy Owens. It seem promising when I ordered it as I'm a huge sports enthusiast and love the stories that are told. Baseball is probably my second favorite American sport so I'm quite familiar with Biddy Owens and what he stood for back in the late 40's. The issue I had with this book was that it wasn't too balanced for me. I felt it covered Biddy's life and then it covered over to news and discrimination events in Birmingham, Alabama, but it didn't connect the two seamlessly. It might be just me but I was left a little empty when I know I should have enjoyed it a lot more."

"This is one of the highlights from Kathryn Lasky's My Name is America series. The third hand account of Lewis and Clark's expedition gives a interesting perspective of their journey that isn't always taught in school. Young men should love this book."

"This solution does meet the topic in that the book is from the correct series. While it is highly reviewed, there are only a few actual reviews so it may not be the best one of the series. I further think this because in the related items I can see other ones from the series with similar ratings but with more reviews."
