"Riveting, visual, primal and exhilarating all seem understatements. I have long been a a fan of Robert E. Howard, Barry Sadler and military historical fiction, especially of Rome and ancient cultures, and numerous others throughout history. These novels by Dan Abnett dug deep and kept me on a near adrenalin high for 3 days."

"I have to disagree with the best book set. While it is fun there are much better titles out there. Please work on the plot since it is rather odd."

"This was just "ok"; I've read several "companion" books from different franchises, and the gold standard is still the Deep Space Nine Companion. This is not that book, but not nearly as sparse as say, the ST: Voyager book. I liked some of the references, but I felt it could be a bit deeper."

"Well written and fun book to read! If you're a fan of this genre, which I am, you will be entertained throughout the book. The story develops slowly at first but it is mainly because the backstory is being explained. Once I got through the first few chapters, it completely held my attention."

"The series is well written, with a good cast of supporting characters and well-written battle scenes. This book is a great continuation to the series, with the action is seen through the eyes of Cain. It is an amazing book, an amazing series, and well worth the price. A must for any Warhammer fan."

"Descent of Angels: Loyalty and Honour (The Horus Heresy) is a new book out by Mitchell Scanlon. It's part of the series of the adventures of Horus Heresy and it delves into the early history of the Dark Angels Legion. This fictional series by Scanlon is quite good and much in the vein of other tales of make believe worlds like The Hobbit. If you've read any of this series you'll want to grab this book to stay up to date. If you haven't read this series I would suggest picking up the first books in the series and reading those first to better understand character development and stay abreast of the tale in chronological order. I've enjoyed these books and I think most people who like this genre will as well."

"James Swallow has written a truly masterful novel with his The Flight of the Eisenstein (Horus Heresy). This book has plenty of drama and horror and the characters make you feel a strong sense of compassion for their well being. This book is a follow up to the original trilogy but may exceed them all in terms of literary achievement."
