It makes it simple enough to follow the story, especially for those who have already read or are familiar with the classic Don Quijote. It provides learners with the ability to follow along in Spanish and start to understand the complexities of Spanish in an un-translated form."

"Jimenez writes a novel that reads like an autobiography in the best way. This book shows the heartbreaking account of what it means to start a new life in a country where you are the minority. Honest, gripping, and easily read by both beginner and native Spanish speakers. Not only will you be invested in the story, but you'll find yourself going through the book at a steady pace due to the easy flow of Jimenez' writing. 10/10."

"The book sounds like a typical drug lord movie novel. It does not sound unique enough to catch my attention. The description pretty much tells you what will happen. We have seen this plot in books and film so much that it does not hold any mystique anymore."

"While it does seem to be a generally well-reviewed book, it seems to be more advanced. It doesn't seem as though it would be something that someone who is just learning Spanish would be able to understand. This would likely be better for a fluent reader or for someone who is already familiar with the Spanish language."

This is a collection of great Mexican short stories, and it had both English and Spanish. I would read it in Spanish and use the English to help me figure out words I didn't know. I got a lot out of this book and I think other people would enjoy it as well. "

"Ok, I have been trying to learn espanol for too long. I get started, then its too complicated, I try again and so on. I really want my children to learn Spanish too. This book is Spanglish so it's easier to learn the words put in an English sentence versus learning the Spanish order of the sentence which confuses me soooo much. I love this book. I read it to my children when they were expecting their newest hermanita--little sister :)"
