"Athena the Wise takes age-old myths and puts a modern twist on them. Bullies, crushes, and differences in people are all highlighted in the book, and my twin daughters both love this. I have a feeling it will be read quite a few times."

"Based on one of the more well known goddesses of Greek lore, this book revolves around the exploits of Athena as a teenage girl, trying to fix up a labyrinth for King Minos, although things don't exactly go to plan... A good choice for that adolescent girl looking for something new to read."

"A fantastic book for the series. It's honestly as creative and full of Greek influences as you'd expect, all while being done in a soft tone and more so, in what I'd describe as a 'fun' tone."

"Been a big fan of the Goddess Girls series introducing greek mythology to younger kids and so I picked up Artemis the Brave. This was an excellent book and fun way to introduce my students to some mythological elements on a level that they are able to comprehend better. I highly recommend the series for kids who show interest in history and want something fun to read."

"With the lowered intelligence of tweens today, it's wonderful to have a book that's got easy words and cartoonish images. Also, I love the diversity involved! The nasty, evil white males are just background wallpaper to the strong, perfect women, who are all colors. My partner and I love being able to have our children read these!"

"I sort of have a love hate thing with this book (my daughter loved it, I - well, I didn't hate it, I just didn't love it). It's pretty gossipy and cheerleader-y and that's my disappointment with the whole series. But I'm old (as my daughter likes to say) and my daughter is young and this is just the thing for her. I don't know if you could say that this is the best book in the series, though. My daughter reads and rereads them all. I think her personal favorite is the one about Medusa (she was Medusa one Halloween, so perhaps that's why). For preteens, though - and particularly girls, this is a fun series. "
