"Books about fatherhood are hard to find as most are stories of fatherhood, but not actual example of what it is to be a father. A Dad After God's Own Heart is one of those books that has stories, but is easily more of a how to for being a good father. Religious or not, it's worth a read to any expecting or established dads out there."

"One of my friends gave me this book and I was skeptical at first. In fact I didn't start reading it at first. But after a while I noticed my wife going through so many changes, and I wanted to understand and be involved somehow. This book was great for that. It has helped me understand my wife and feel like I am joining her on the journey to parenthood. "

"This book is good for dads in their 40s if they're looking for a story they can relate to. But new dads are usually too busy to read a book just for entertainment purposes. This book would be better if it had more advice in it, so the precious time spent away from the kid is more constructive to parenting."

"I think it's a shame that a man's reading world is confined to anti-personal non-fiction. You know, some of us guys are actually sick of reading about World War Two every year! Finally, here's a book that really connects to the true meaning of manhood in our society. Benner's perspective is great, but what's even greater is the new community of fathers springing up around this book. I've passed around my copy to my friends, and we've already had several fascinating discussions about it."
