"Neil Gaiman is a great author and while I love his stories this book did not really meet my expectations. I did not like the old woman who eats her cat alive tale at all. This set the tone for the book for me and I did not enjoy it as I do his other works. To say it is his best work I could not agree to it."

"Is The Books of Magic one of the best Neil Gaiman books, that's hard to say. He has so many that it might possibly this would be an amazing book under another author, but under Gaiman it's very good. If you like magic and the DC universe (not the DCEU), then it's very much worth the read."

"One of the best Books of Neil Gaiman is probably Smoke and Mirrors. It was published almost 2 decades ago but it is still as good as it was then. It is his first book and if you like creative tales retold of old stories, you will enjoy this book a lot."

"Such a beautiful book! Features Yoshitaka Amano's wonderful illustrations, was Gaiman's first Sandman story in three years. It is not the original classic Sandman stories by him, but a worthy addition to the canon."
