"Grifter's Game is a great book for anyone who loves to read about hard case crime. It is an exciting title that I enjoyed reading. The themes in this book are very serious, so I wouldn't recommend it for the weak at heart. "

"Pulp fiction. Just another way of rolling porn into a story line. That it is a series on Cinemax should be revealing enough. Not interested."

"Drug of Choice is a so-so book, Crichton was obviously still honing his craft. It's worth reading, but don't expect anything amazing. If you're going into this as a huge Crichton fan though, you might get more of a thrill out of it."

"You clearly never mess with the mob, but this crime book looks great! I wouldn't have expected an 18 yr old show girl to write this story either. This looks interesting to say the least. The price is great and it comes with different options to purchase. "

"I read this in two days, but it sure stayed with me for a lot longer. It's not moving, so much as sad and not necessarily in a good way. I suppose if you like this kind of thing, it might be interesting. I have to say, I didn't (and don't). I think that hard crime can be sad - depressing, even. But at the end there is something of value (or redemptive) to take with you. I didn't find that much here. So, read at your own 'mental health' risk. "

"The author writes brilliantly. Each chapter is told by a different character in the first person. It's supposed to be a murder mystery though you don't see the actual crime until more towards the end of the book. The ending is a letdown though. Wish the author could rewrite that part, lol. "

"This is a novel in the classic noir style, focusing on a down on his luck man solving a crime with a bombastic woman. It's decently well reviewed, and has an interesting enough story for this kind of novel. If you like crime thrillers, especially ones that are grounded in reality, this would be one for you to look at."
