"If I were going to recommended one book on Indian history, it'd probably be Keay's. I originally bought this to understand more about the heritage of the girl my son decided to marry, and it drew me in. The only drawback is the binding isn't as good as it should be for 600 pages."

"Excellent read, and really well written. I would have preferred to have a bit less of the "outside looking in" perspective, but I'm not entirely sure that could be helped. Regardless, it's a great book, and a must for anyone interested in the history of this region."
