"This is an old but classic series of fantasy novels set in the Dark Sun Dungeons and Dragons setting. The author has gone on to write a lot of installments in classic Sci-Fi and Fantasy series, so he's got a good pedigree. It doesn't have the greatest ratings, but it's a niche subject, so if you want books in this setting this isn't a concern for you. It's also old enough to be somewhat harder to find, so pick it up when you can."

"This is the best place to start in the Dark Sun campaign. So move into your parents basement and put on your best stained shirt and read about D&D because you cannot play it all the time."

"The premise of everything was not for me. The read was alright, but I was not engulfed in this. I could see others liking this story but it was not a page turner for me."

"Story with too much action. It never slows down enough to figure out what is going on. Not the best book of any kind. "

"I love this author’s StarTrek books but this one not so much. I’m not a game player so that might be part of the problem. YMMV. But I found this book to be a bit over the top, not that I mind the fantasy side of things. But the author gets lost in the setting and the plot never seems to really get off the ground."

"This was not too bad, but not nearly as great as I had been led to believe. The settings themselves are nice and descriptive, but the plots and some of the characterizations are quite a mess, and I found myself having difficulty following along."

"One of the best entries in the Dark Sun Chronicles series. I managed to find the time to finish this amazing story a couple of years ago while I was on vacation. This is a unique story that many other writers try to emulate, but can never quite get down right. The Brazen Gambit does a good job of grabbing hold of the reader and making sure they are entertained along the way."

"Decent story telling and its suitable for all ages, but in my opinion, alot of the stories fall pretty short. I definitely would not recommend at this price. "
