"Chronicles: Volume One wouldn't be my first recommendation for anyone looking to read up on Bob Dylan. Though written by Dylan himself, the books jumps around and consistently fails to present as much of the story as the reader would want. It's fascinating nevertheless."

"On the Road with Bob Dylan is no where near the best books related to Bob Dylan. It hardly goes in-depth about his life and doesn't really say anything that you don't know already."

"Bob Dylan is my idol and I am always looking for new material on him. I fortunately found this book in a bookstore on a recent trip. This book is high on my list of books about Bob Dylan. It recounts how Bob Dylan wrote the lyrics and music to his popular songs. There is information in this book that I had not read anywhere else. A must read for all Bob Dylan fans. "

"Interesting book, but it's not remotely balanced; look elsewhere for that. On the other hand, the detail is really well done, and it's an interesting story of this era of music, where Dylan and Baez got their start."
