"The Stand is probably my favorite book and certainly one of the best books set in a post-apocalyptic world. Stephen Kind delivers characters rich with inner monolouges and excellent interpersonal interaction. Rivalries, jealousies, love affairs all set within a framework of the ultimate fight between good and evil. Flagg, being a recurrent theme in King's books, shines here as the ultimate evil villian and even minor characters like Trashman and Tom Cullen shine. "

Alien Species Intervention (An Alien Apocalyptic Saga)

The books start telling the story of Netty, a farm girl that manages to escape from her abusive and rapist husband, only to meet Baby, a strange creature, and finding herself in a love triangle with him and Wil, an Italian stranger.

"Somehow this set of books was listed as science fiction. It was also listed as literature. I'd almost read Twilight over this tripe. Full disclaimer, I only got a couple chapters in. This has to be the worst written crap I've read this year. Here, from just the description, "In Baby, the prequel to the Species Intervention #6609, Netty is a naïve teenage farm girl given in marriage to an older brutal opportunist disguised as a prominent citizen during the Prohibition years in Sussex County, New Jersey" The actual book itself is even more terribly written. God love the Amazon self-publishing platform, because really, no one else should."

"This book is the first in the Divergent trilogy, which is the book series that inspired a major movie series. This trilogy is set in Chicago and is great for fans of dystopian novels such as The Hunger Games and Maze Runers. I would recommend this book for young adults or those without much experience in post-apocalyptic worlds. For those with more experience reading these types of books this may seem a little elementary and meainstream "

"I was looking for a book to read for a project I was assigned in school. The project required that I examine the development of a character in a fictional world unlike our own, and then compare, contrast, and explain, how the different environment impacted the character development. This book was a great suggestion, as it has one male protagonist struggling to survive in a world that is fictional as well as dynamic."

The book provides far more details than the movie and tells the story from a variety of perspectives. The book makes a lot of bold claims about the zombie world and also expects readers to grasp some not so obvious analogies. I would suggest this book for a zombie enthusiast but not for someone who is just learning about post apocalyptic worlds"
