"This book is as dark as the middle ages. Even the cover is pitch black. I read this from start to finish and I highly recommend this book for those that are curious about dark history."

"Great historical book! I loved learning about Poland during the Renaissance since I didn't know much about it during that time so I loved reading it. Good buy."

"I recently read Land, Liberties, and Lordship in a Late Medieval Countryside, and it has to be the best book i have ever read about medieval Poland. The book is factual and deep in its characters and analysis. If you are looking for a historical reference in this area, this is the one. "

"The book, Medieval Art, Architecture and Archaeology in Cracow and Lesser Poland (The British Archaeological Association Conference Transactions) looks fascinating and contributors embrace a wide selection of media and approaches, from church architecture and monastic archaeology to sculpture, micro-architecture, manuscripts, and even medieval clocks. The papers raise issues not only of style, iconography, ceremony and patronage, but also of politics, economy, law, philosophy and theology, as well as horology, trade and shipbuilding. This collection, which brings together the work of British, Polish, French, German and Italian scholars on this artistically important yet little-studied region of medieval Europe, will be of lasting value to scholarship. I think I would love to read this book, from illustrations to documentation explaining the history on so many levels! "

"The book was out of stock when I first ordered it and I had to wait a couple of weeks before a shipment came in. The book was not worth the wait! Long and boring are the first words that come to mind. I gave up trying to read it, just didn't keep my attention."

"This solution is average as it provides the author, time period, and publish date. However, it has typos in it (reduces credibility) and provides no summary or info on what the book covers. "

"Okay, my mind is blown! Who would have thought medieval Poland was such a wellspring of interesting archaeological discovery. I'm not going to list all the things Poland's got under it's bed rock, or above it, but it's got some ancient stuff going on. I for one, think that is rad!"

"This book is a case study that focuses on a single topic in Medieval Poland, a pilgrimage to a Saint's Shrine. The book has a very narrow focus which allows it to delve deep into its topic. While this book won't give you an overview of all of medieval Poland it will give you an important window into religious and community life of an average member of a town during this time. This is a great case study that could be complimented with a more narrative account of Poland's history. "

"The Formation of the Polish State isn't exactly the best book I've ever read, nor is it the worst. It sits somewhere there as another average book, that I found good enough to pick up every so often, if not from my curiosity of the topic alone. So in short, if the topic it offers you is something you're curious about, then it's more or less worth a read."
