"Daughter of Smoke & Bone is definitely a great book with so many awards and critics already. I have read it since I like fiction&horror books. Although the events are taking place at Prague, it does not have a significant role in my opinion. I was expecting to see a different book that is about Prague."

"I had a hard time with this book. The woman is married to a man who likes women and is torn between her and a mistress. I don't understand why any woman would put up with such a thing, but apparently there's a story to be told here about enlightenment. I was too distracted by my dislike of the husband to enjoy it."

"I just finished reading The Joke and I was extremely happy with the book I wasn't sure how I would like it since this was Milan Kundera first book and I didn't know his style but I loved the pace and flow of this story. It's also one of the best books that I have read that takes place in Prague. "

"This book is a masterpiece. It attempts to explain the roots of modern antisemitism and 19th century nationalism, including the rise of the Nazis. It's partly set in Prague and partly in Paris. The protagonist is a monster and the only fictional character in the book. The rest actually existed and are documented by history. Excellent read."

"This is a great book for the right person - others might find it quite dull. It concentrates a lot on the protagonist's passion for collecting. Some might find this character a kindred spirit, and other's might find it quite boring. I personally enjoyed it."

"His weapon is the pun. At one point when Herman describes his search for a title to this story, he considers calling it "Crime and Pun". At another point in the novel Nobokov has Herman cleverly sequester Dostoyevsky's name in an anagram, as noted by Alexander Dolinin in "The Caning of Modernist Profaners: Parody in "Despair"."
