"I read Desert Solitaire because I enjoy national parks and traveling a lot. I thought that it was a good read, but some parts of it were too technical and over the top for me. I still enjoyed it."

"Absolutely fascinating book about Mormonism and life in Utah. I think in America, sometimes we have no idea how different the landscape is in other parts of the country. This book really brought Utah to life for me, I could picture it vividly in my head."

"A Study in Scarlet is one of the best books set in Utah. Written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle this is a classic that any fan of Sherlock Holmes should read. It is a classic mystery tale that takes you back to Utah in the late 1800s. Read this one for sure."

"Under The Banner of Heaven has to be the best book I've ever read that was set in Utah; the problem is, I'm pretty sure it's the only book I've ever read that was set in Utah. This is an incredibly niche category with little competition, so UTBoH skates through on uniqueness alone. It's not the greatest book, but there's really not a whole lot of options here."

"McPhee is an artist journalist and this book is a fugue on geology. It’s about the basin range area in Utah,, which I drove through on the Lonsomest Highway in America once. I love that personal connection to the historical aspect of geology. And McPhee does the same in his story."

"The concept of this book was interesting and fun, and I wanted to like it soooo bad, but it just fell short for me. It was a bit slow and was missing the magic that makes an outlandish idea seem real. It wasn't offensively bad though, so don't necessarily avoid it if it sounds interesting to you."
