"This is a must read for Shakespeare romance fans. It does an excellent job painting a clear picture of what the life of a Venecian woman who is in love is like. This particular translation makes it very easy to follow along. "

"I remember when I first time saw a movie by this play. I fell in love with story. And I was looking for translation to read, and I found this book online. I loved the way of classical storyline, interesting plot and characters. I was fascinated that in such times when Shakespeare wrote this play, he showed how smart women are and I fell in love with this play even more. I liked the way main characters helped each other even risking their own marriage. And women acted really smart by "checking" their husbands' faithfulness. "

"Venice is famous for various things such as its canals, but I cannot necessarily think of that many books that take place there, so I think this would have to be one of the better ones, as it is an above average work in general. It's full of various allusions and metaphors that might cause it to be a bit dense for the modern reader, but it is worth figuring out. The other stories that round out the collection are worth a read as well, though they take place in a variety of settings. "
