"I did not like this book and had a hard time completing it. The book is billed as a supernatural horror story, but to me it was just a book with poor writing. I would not recommend this book and for me it was a complete waste of my time."

"This a good book especially in the setting. The sheltered life you come across with the character was hard for me to understand as I'm a city boy, but overall very good book and interesting."

"I have seen all the James Bond movies but had never read one of the books. After reading this, I am mad at myself for not trying them out sooner. Bond seemed like more of a real person in the book and is one that I now have prominently displayed at home. "

"This has much more to do with horses than Vermont. I cannot imagine selecting this only for the setting as it is insignificant in the story overall. A great read though."

"As far as I’m concerned, this is the best book written by Chris Bohjalian. It’s set in Vermont and it involves catamounts and dowsers and even the business interests of a ski mountain. It’s a beautiful book in a beautiful setting with some magical stories being told. I don’t think this book has ever been matched by Bohjalian. Or even other authors."
