"Finding books about or set on a mountain are abundant I'm sure. This book however, embeds you right into the story. You feel yourself on that mountain facing the same terrifying challenges as Jon Krakauer. This is the closest I'm going to get to experiencing climbing a mountain of this magnitude and after reading this book, that's more than enough for me."

"I picked up Heidi to see what was the fuss about when a friend kept on nagging me to get this book thus I did. I have to say Heidi is a pretty great novel that features a girl and her grandfather on a mountain. The novel is filled with adventurous life of Heidi from being on a mountain to going to the noisy place we call a city. Getting this novel won't leave you disappointed I know I wasn't. Would highly recommend you to give this book to a daughter or girl. It would be a great read for them."

"While this is a wildly general category, there are certainly better books that take place on mountains. The Lord of the Rings should qualify, because of Mount Doom. Cold Mountain? Another classic there. However, "Winterkill" by Joe Pickett falls into every literary pitfall there is. It's boring and predictable, so it's easy to forget about the adventurous setting in... Wyoming. Yes, the setting is boring just like every other part of the book. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. You'll thank me later."
