"A decent book for someone new and willing to read and write Russian. With any new language or skill, a complete beginner with no background will have a lot of difficulty starting, especially with no support system. Thankfully I had a Russian friend who helped correct me when I spoke Russian to him and fixed grammatical mistakes when writing. I would highly suggest finding a group, tutor, forum, etc to help you out when you're stuck."

"This is a great book to have if you are starting out learning Russian. It allows you to quickly and easily find the meaning and pronunciation of words that you aren’t familiar with. This however doesn’t teach you Russian and is only meant to be a reference. Pretty decent."

"I wanted a book to pick up some easy, common Russian phrases for my trip abroad, and this book caught my eye on the shelf in the airport. It's quite simple to gauge at first glance and all of the phrases are simple enough to comprehend and integrate with the locals so far. I appreciate the way the it caters to tourists, going step by step from the visa and travelling process, to buying in shops and all the way to talking to the locals and how to approach them for assistance."
