"If you've ever asked anyone about a funny book to read, you've probably heard of Hitchhiker's Guide. There's a good reason for that - it's hilarious! This book is a masterpiece of the randomness of the universe mirroring the madness of everyday life, much to the dismay of unfortunate Arthur Dent. It's a classic sci-fi/humor novel, and it's worth its weight in gold."

"When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops is clever and funny, but like Carlin's other books, it really isn't much other than jokes from his standup, sometimes polished, sometimes expanded. It's still a good read if you're a Carlin fan, but I think that he was always best on the stage, and his books always felt like a tame commercial product."

"The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is more a poignant read than a book to make you laugh. It's beautifully written through the eyes of a 15 year old autistic boy. A perfect book for someone who has special needs. Everyone can relate to the simple story line. it has the usual highs and lows."

"Pretty funny Christmas book you can read to family at night. I like reading to my kids before they go to bed and I found this book to be very solid for reading in Christmas. They seem to really like it and always get a kick out of me reading it so that's a huge plus. Overall I found this book very amusing and I feel like I'll read this every Christmas if I get the chance."

"For the most part, this novel does sound pretty interesting and I do enjoy books that can keep my attention. I am interested in how good of a job the author did here with blending in the comedy with the detective/crime atmosphere. This may be a book I will give a read to one day!"

    #7Naked

    Naked

Welcome to the hilarious, strange, elegiac, outrageous world of David Sedaris. In Naked, Sedaris turns the mania for memoir on its ear, mining the exceedingly rich terrain of his life, his family, and his unique worldview-a sensibility at once take-no-prisoners sharp and deeply charitable. A tart-tongued mother does dead-on imitations of her young son's nervous tics, to the great amusement of his teachers; a stint of Kerouackian wandering is undertaken (of course!) with a quadriplegic companion; a family gathers for a wedding in the face of imminent death. Through it all is Sedaris's unmistakable voice, without doubt one of the freshest in American writing.

"I have to be totally honest, David Sedaris is my favorite person. If there is a talk show coming on, see if David Sedaris is a guest. It will always be hilarious. This book will keep you laughing. David (Brother to the also very hilarious Amy) is one of the smartest, funniest people ever. He has led a tough, but intensely interesting life. His earlier biographical work "Me Talk Pretty" is also funny. Do NOT miss this..In fact read EVERYTHING he's ever written."

"The Appalachian Trail trail stretches from Georgia to Maine and covers some of the most breathtaking terrain in America–majestic mountains, silent forests, sparking lakes. If you’re going to take a hike, it’s probably the place to go. And Bill Bryson is surely the most entertaining guide you’ll find. He introduces us to the history and ecology of the trail and to some of the other hardy (or just foolhardy) folks he meets along the way–and a couple of bears. Already a classic, A Walk in the Woods will make you long for the great outdoors (or at least a comfortable chair to sit and read in)."

"I felt like this book got off to a slow start. The author's childhood reminisces were not as entertaining to me as his description of living in France as an expat. The stories about his French lessons and his wanderings in Paris were hilarious. The second half is enjoyable enough to slog through the first half"

To be able to share your story and make others laugh is an even greater gift, and one that Jenny Lawson brandishes on Let's Pretend This Never Happened. This book is comedy gold and definitely something that most people can relate to, which makes it even better in my book. "

"When I typed in my search for best books to make you laugh, I was really looking for joke books, or comedy books, maybe something written by a comedian. Good Omens on the surface appears to be a mishit, but when I read further into the description of the book, it apparently is supposed to be a spoof, and according to reviews, a pretty funny one. This might actually be something I'm interested in, so I am excited by this unique recommendation."
