"The Cellar left me on edge as I read the story of the beasts that live underground. The twisted plot of two tales, left me in chills. The book is horrifying as the beasts are murderous. I do think the book lacks some real elements, which makes hard to believe. Even when stories are far fetched, the writing should lend itself to make the characters and plot, seem real. "

"A book that is much better than movie. A beleagured woman moves to a small town and hearing a mysterious howling. Well used suspense and mystery throughout the book. Some parts in the middle are a little odd and mdon't makes sense but the book delivers in the end and is worth it overall."

"Dean Koontz has long been one of my favorite authors. Think of him as the next generation of Stephen King, but with a wilder imagination. "Phantoms" will grab you from the start and entwine you with the author's stylish writing throughout the pages. Highly recommended."

"I think it's the perfect length, the writing is solid, and the characters are compelling. I don't want to give away too much about the book but let me just say the last third of the book is absolutely astonishing. Even though it was first released in 1951, it still holds up and is quite the page-turner. It was the Walking Dead before Walking Dead."

"There is certainly a creature in this novel, though deciding whether it's the antagonist is a bit iffy. Really, the hunters are more likely the antagonists, and the creature is just a third party that the protagonists have to dodge while the antagonists suffer from it. Still, it looks like a decent read, and is pretty well regarded, so you'll probably be entertained by it."

" Not only is the antagonist a creature but the protagonist is as well. After an accident, the previously human protagonist gains an Alien body. What follows is a sci fi first contact story in the vein of many others. Here, the focus is on the situation. The characters themselves are rather neglected by the author. Instead, the excitement comes from the interaction between humans, the aliens, and the human alien in between. I like the story overall. It works as science fiction. But I never came to care about any of the characters."

"King Kong would without a doubt have to be one of the greatest books ever with an antagonist who is a creature. The giant ape who takes over the city."
