"Is the theme of this book all that taboo? I'm not sure, as I think a strong female character who is taking charge of getting out of her own situation is becoming more mainstream. A great novel but not so much taboo."

"I bought this book because I liked the cover and thought it would be interesting. It is beyond interesting. It is full of adventures, dark sexual escapades and fear all in one. Once I started reading, it was very hard to put down. It has a dark theme with makes it really intriguing. Definitely one of the best books with a taboo theme. "

"Lolita is a metaphor. Delores represents America: young, immature, perverse even. Humbert Humbert is Europe: older, sophisticated, but drawn to the that which he should look down to. Its his own personal heart of darkness. This is, of course, a rich classic. I highly recommend."

"The Tied Man is a dark novel written by Tabitha McGowan. I really related to the main character Lilith Bresson and felt that we had similar characteristics. This story involves some depravity in an unlikely setting. The story includes a male human sex slave, which is an interesting twist since you normally hear about women being in this particular role. Overall an excellent written story, which makes you feel invested in the characters and want to see how they fare in the end."

"This book definitely fits the "taboo" theme. In the story, Christian, a vampire who has been around for many, many decades, and others break into the home of young Kitty Thomas. When Kitty gets a bit older, Christian takes her as his human pet. I fail to think of anything much less taboo than keeping a woman as a human pet. "

"Debt Inheritance is a dark book. It is erotica but it is also about the main character who is practically a slave due to her indebted through family and is given away as a present. It is not a feel good story and is a bit too heavy."

"If you are looking for a good taboo themed book this book will suffice. I will say that it is borderline taboo vs. sexual abuse... It is a little touchy so I would say read at your own discretion. It is a good book don't get me wrong, but I guess it will be how you perceive it. "
