"Eureka! I finally found one: an audiobook that I loved. I mean what 80’s baby wouldn’t appreciate an audiobook narrated by Wil Wheaton loaded with 80’s pop culture references to boot? Fun Fact: my favorite Wil Wheaton movie is Toy Soldiers. I will admit that when I first read the synopsis of this book I didn’t think it was my jam. My best friend convinced me otherwise and boy was she right! I loved it! Like really loved it. I am not sure if I would have felt the same way reading the book versus listening; I think since I enjoyed the narration that I was more engaged. Either way I now can’t wait for the movie coming out in March. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is about a highly introverted billionaire, James Halliday, whom leaves his fortune and control of his company to one lucky winner of a treasure hunt he has created inside the virtual reality environment (the Oasis) that he has also created (Wow, realized I wrote a sentence that could easily become some sort of tongue twister). Halliday loves the 80’s: its music, movies and video games…if you don’t, well then you probably would not have had a chance at winning the prize (and would not enjoy this book/audiobook as much)"

"I really like the sci-fi aspects of this story. a great read for all ages."

Did you know that Ready Player One is a movie with loads of pop-culture references? Moviegoers from the older generation will surely find the movie amusing and nostalgic. The movie is loaded with different elements from Jurassic Park to Star Wars. Ready Player One is produced and directed by Steven Spielberg. It features Tye Sheridan of the X-men film series and English actress Olivia Cooke. The film serves as a crossroad between the past and the future. Spielberg has utilized the virtual-reality heavy plot of the movie very well. Loads of elements of his past work and other hit movies can be identified when watching the film. Spielberg has allowed viewers to relive some iconic elements through the film. These elements include the DeLorean time machine from 1865’s Back to the Future (which Spielberg produced). It also includes the T-rex from the Jurassic Park movies and the killer-doll Chucky from Child’s Play. R2-D2 from Star Wars also makes an appearance, among many others.

The virtual reality and video game element of the film are what makes it really interesting. The movie gives a very visually-appealing adaptation to Ernest Cline’s 2011 book. No one probably thought that a virtual reality book would be adapted so well on the big screen, that people really find where to watch Ready Player One. Spielberg has recreated a simple book about a virtual reality game to fit moviegoer's taste. Everyone can be in for a treat and watch Ready Player One online through different platforms available.

"This book satisfies the craving for a tech theme, but falls short of being about video games or virtual reality. Daemon is more cyberpunk and hacker-themed with notes of Skynet than it is a Ready-Player-One-esque adventure into the virtual world. It's a good book, but it's not what I was searching for."

"Wow, was this a rockin' book! I can't wait for the movie. I'm not a real sci-fi fan, but I really enjoy this author and will read anything he writes. One of the things I find hard about many books in this genre is the assumption that the reader has a certain depth of scientific knowledge or understands weapons and rocketry. Although there is technical data throughout the book, it is written in a way that those of us who aren't rocket scientists can follow and enjoy. Thanks, Ernest!"
