"I was so thrilled to find this sequel to Garden Spells because I was so sad when it ended! I wanted to spend more time with all the characters and find out how they fared in this mystical place. It's so cool how each of them has a different magical gift. Now I'm ready for a prequel about the earlier members of this family. Reading a story by Sarah Addison Allen is like sitting down with a Valentine heart box filled with nothing but your favorite chocolates - you are in your happy place! Thank you, Sarah Addison Allen! Keep 'em coming!"

"This story is very creative as it focuses on the perspective of the friend, Barbara, to the teacher who enters into a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student. It was uncomfortable to read about the inappropriate teacher/student relationship, but it makes me wonder if I could continue to be friends with someone who commit such a heinous sex crime. I like to think I am a loyal friend, but this book makes me consider if I am only a fair-weather-friend and I wonder what causes Barbara to remain friends with her teacher friend when the teacher goes to jail. As the book progresses, I learn more about Barbara's background that gives some explanation for her loyalty, but so much more could have been done to understand Barbara even more fully."

"This book isn't about apples. Doesn't really apply to the book at all. Not sure why someone would care about that aspect."

"This reminds me of the idea of using experimentation for reaching discovery. It does relate to the idea that sometimes searching for something may have the person come across accidental treasure. It's a really nice touch to the idea when you don't know what you're searching for but instead the thing that you're searching for searches for you."
