"American Gods was given to me by a good friend. I received the paperback edition and started on it right away. The dark humor presented in this novel has a really good feel about it. I was reminded of similarities to classic Stephen King novels. I felt that American Gods was a really good story based around two people traveling around America to recruit American reincarnations of old deities. Their purpose in recruiting these old deities was to battle the new ones. It's a really enjoyable read and I think this is really a well done book."

"I loved this whole series and yes it had so much dark humor. These books are classic and everyone should read them. They keep you engaged and occupied and the story is very good. Even though this novel and the others are older they are still up to date in today's world. I would read them again they are that enjoyable. A great read."

"Although Neil Gaiman is a good author, I wanted something a little more dark humor. Gaiman is the ultimate "what if" storyteller and in this book he takes the familiar "down the rabbit hole" trope and puts it in London. It's dark and poignant, even, but humor doesn't come to mind. "
