"I read Blood Meridian as a line marking the West. Literally, a line of longitude that once crossed signals entering the West. The novel, in part, de-romanticizes the typical notions of "going out west," showing the brutal realities of Manifest Destiny, westward expansion, etc."

"Stephen King's second novel "Salem's Lot" is a captivating tale with an essence of literary darkness. This book set the tone for King's rise to literary notoriety! It kept me captivated throughout and I could not put it down. The photographs are a great added touch to bring the story to life. "

"This is a very interesting novel, although I can't say I really enjoyed it. If anything I was somewhat disturbed by it. It's a unique story about a South Korean woman who decides to be vegetarian after having a dream that disturbed her. It is broken into three different sections. I guess it does make you think if nothing else, and that can be rare in a book these days. I still would not say that it was particularly pleasant to read. "

"The Turh of the screw is a book that was given as a suggestion for the best books with the essence of literary darkness. While the purchase options are great and many and the reviews are several and good the cover of this book is boring and wouldn't interest me at all."
