"Gryphons are beautiful mythological animals and aren't written about enough these days. There were some in Harry Potter, but it didn't satisfy my desire to read about them in depth. I started looking for something like that and sure enough, I found this series. The book was co-written by two authors but you wouldn't know it from reading. It really is an amazing tale. "

"This is a good book as a sort of upgrade for My Little Pony fans. If you ever wondered what would happen to a unicorn in a human town, here you go. Ms. Pierce also brings in narwhals, who belong in any unicorn novel. I'd like to know more about speeding up gestation of foals, but hey, I guess unicorns are different. Just as I'll never get to taste the flowers of the milkwood tree. Pooh. I like the story. A previous reviewer complained that the unicorn turning his horn and hooves to sparkmakers was a lame superpower; not so in a primative society."

"This is the only book in the Firebringer Trilogy I've read and I'd say it's just alright. It certainly plucks the chords that most fantasy readers expect, with adventure, mythical creatures, and melodrama galore. But it never really does anything to distinguish it from the crowd. I didn't regret my time with this book but don't really feel a need to go back to the series."

"I LOVE griffins. I wanted to find the best books with griffins in the story. I found out about Stormdancer (The Lotus War) from my best friend (who also loves griffins). This book is great! It's the first book in the sci-fi series for young adults, The Lotus Wars, which is by Jay Kristoff. It's all about Yukiko and her warrior father, Masaru, and centers on their lives and missions. The griffins are awesome! Love it!"

"The Griffin's War is the third book in a dark fantasy series called the Fallen Moon. It breaks the hero mold and has fairly high reviews doing so. For a book with a griffin in the story, it's hard to say this isn't a great choice, especially for a pool of novels so small."

"Great example of a book with griffins, they are even present in the title! That's how you know they will frequently show up throughout the story. It is a nice touch, because most stories would only feature griffins briefly. However, it is important to note that this is the SECOND book in a series. It might be best to start off with the first."

"I love the Harry Potter series. "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is just as good as the rest. This book is well written and is very compelling. It has a griffin in it that plays a big part in the book. If you like fantasy, Sci-fi, wizards, etc, you have to read this book. It is as great as any I have read."

"The way that griffins were described in this book was really cool. I didn't know much about their mythology to begin with, but now I feel like I'm an expert. "

"I had to get this book since it was the last in the series. I thought the writing was great, but this was a lot more action than magic. I did love seeing a couple new characters, but I felt it wasn't on par with the rest of the series. I guess since it was the last book it had to be done a little differently. I would still recommend it to close out the series."
