"Burgess is a linguistic & observational genius. The ultra violent world he creates is as real as any fictional world with parallels in experience can be, with its own standards & language. His anti-hero is supremely confidant & therefore short-sighted. The revenge society (including his own) takes is grotesque; & the measures instigated by social engineering backfire as the opportunist re-asserts himself to take advantage of blunders by the social elite. Richly underlying this storyline is Burgess' satirical humor & intelligence. I have read this novel before & had to buy it again as another reader 'stole' it from me, by failing to return it!"

"I love mind control stories, I mean I really love them. That is why I was so disappointed when I was looking into the best books with mind control stories for a new book to read and a friend recommended "Salem's Lot" by Stephen King . After spending several days reading it, I was extremely underwhelmed. The book did not connect with me and I wasn't impressed at all. I definitely would not recommend this to anyone as it didn't live up to the typical hype of a Stephen King novel. "

"While "spirituality" could be considered a form of mind control, I'm not sure thats quite what the question was looking for here. Sounds like a wonderfully confusing piece about spiritual awakening though. "

"I suspect "Nazi vampires" is the only phrase one needs to hear to know whether this is their kind of book or not. I mean, it's a bit more than "Nazis vant to suck your blood"; the vampires are "mind vampires" who force others to kill (often for their own entertainment), there's a heavy political thriller angle to it, and the book is largely post-WWII. But, still, Nazi vampires."

"This is a really fun and well-written sci-fi novel. If you are into this sort of thing you should definitely read it. AI really enjoyed it when I read it but it is a little light on the mind control aspect."
